ALPHARETTA, Ga., March 15, 2023—ScanSTAT Technologies, a leading provider of health information management solutions, congratulates Connie Renda, MA, RHIA, CHDA, on being voted president-elect of the California Health Information Association (CHIA), the California affiliate of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and its largest state organization with approximately 6,500 members. Renda, who also is ScanSTAT’s vice president of client experience and business development, will serve a three-year term in office as president-elect, president, then past president starting July 1, 2023.

“My strategy to leverage CHIA is to first ensure members and prospective members understand the importance of our organization. Connecting with partner associations that have similar goals in various aspects of health information management (HIM) is a first step to joining efforts for a common goal,” Renda explains.

Renda has been in the HIM industry for more than 25 years exclusively in California and has served as director on CHIA’s board of directors. She designed, developed, implemented, and led the first health information management Bachelor of Science degree program in the state of California at San Diego Mesa College where she is still a professor and program director. Before joining ScanSTAT, Renda held roles ranging from founder and CEO to COO and director of account management for several HIM-related organizations.

Matthew Rohs, president and CEO of ScanSTAT Technologies says, “Connie is known for making connections and being an inspiration to her colleagues, students, and the larger HIM community. She’s equally pragmatic and entrepreneurial in her thinking, which isn’t only valuable and admirable in her role with our organization, but will also serve well CHIA and the HIM field as a whole.”
